The Genesis of seven is the first book in The Empyrean Trilogy. It follows 18 years old Jordan Conway who is entrusted by the head nun of his orphanage for a special mission that includes a mysterious backpack being handed over to a New York address. Soon, he is chased down and finds himself at the destination of an archangel. Meeting Gabriel was a whirlwind of excited and confusing for Jordan. At the first instance he thinks this all just some prank but he realises very soon that everything that’s been happening was real. As Gabriel and Jordan discover new truths and find themselves on the perilous quest. Furthermore, the evil forces have joined hands and are preparing to unleash the wrath as Satan plots his return. However to do that he needs the powerful prophetic objects which has been stolen from heaven.

An absolute thrill ride of a book. It has got everything that a requirement for an engaging read. I love that the author give ample details for the archangel Gabriel which forms the backstory of the book. It was one of the most fascinating section of the book. Everything, from the characterization to the world building, from the intriguing execution of the plot to the adventure was so well written that it kept me engaged through and through.

This was seriously one of the best first book in the trilogy and after witnessing such a marvelous start, I cannot wait to read the second book “The Revelation of Three”. And sure the author will create magic in this one as well.
