Ferryman, is a modern retelling of the ancient Greek myth of Charon, the ferryman of Hades who transported souls to the underworld. It follows Dylan, who dies in a train wreck and meets Tristan, the Ferryman assigned to get her through the wasteland and on to the next journey. The wasteland is not a place of sublime heaven, all rainbows and unicorns, it is brimming with wraiths who can do twice harm as harm than as the death. As they trudge their way from one safe house to another, something shifts between them. Soon enough, sparks fly as he tells her stories about ferrying souls and she tells him her memories. They fall in love slowly but passionately.

But Tristan is a Ferryman and it’s a job that comes with a strict restriction. No matter what promises he makes he cannot change the rules or bend them to his will. What happens when Dylan learns the truth? Would she still love him?

While the book is full of action-packed adventure and a swoon worthy romance, the ending, however was bland. There could have been so much more to that ending as the streak previously was amazing. I know it’s a trilogy and there’s probably more of exciting plot waiting to happen and I cannot wait to read them.
